Specifications
The Zenko Ignis is a 20 cm diameter steel tongue drum (22 cm overall) built by the French workshop Metal Sounds within the European Union. It is made of stainless steel and anodised for added protection, with a net weight of about 1.2 kg. The instrument has eight notes and a red-coloured profile. A pair of mallets and a carrying bag are included in the delivery.
Sound and character
The Ignis tuning (G – A – B – D – G – A – B – D) creates a spherical, ethereal sound, while the sustain remains relatively short, which makes it especially suitable for percussive, rhythmic playing. The eight notes harmonise with each other, so you can produce pleasing music even without prior knowledge of music theory. The 440 Hz reference pitch follows the standard European tuning, allowing easy combination with other instruments.
How to use
Thanks to its compact size and light weight, the Zenko Ignis can be used almost anywhere. It is well suited for yoga sessions, kindergarten activities, sound massages and meditation practices. You can play it with your hand, your fingers or the included mallets, and one-handed playing is also comfortable, offering an intuitive experience for beginners and experienced musicians alike.
