A round yoga bolster with a lively Bohemian print – it holds you where the body would otherwise let go, while bringing a characterful accent to the practice space, and it works just as well as a decorative cushion on the sofa.
What a bolster is for
A bolster is a densely packed, elongated cushion that, placed under the back, legs, neck, chest or behind the knees, supports the body in yoga poses. It helps in both active and restorative practice: with steady support the body weight can release, the breath can deepen and the effect of the pose grows.
Material and make
Both the inner and outer covers are pure cotton, with a natural buckwheat-hull filling. The height can be shaped to taste: removing some filling makes a lower support, for example to gently cradle the lower back. It measures about 60 × 16 cm.
How to use it
For restorative and yin yoga, chest- and hip-opening poses, and as a comfortable sitting prop. The Bohemian print lends a cheerful yet calm mood to the practice corner.
Good to know
The buckwheat-hull filling can settle a little over time; when it does, knead the bolster gently to bring back its shape. Keep it in a dry place and avoid lasting damp, so the natural filling keeps its spring for a long time.
Care
The cover can be removed and washed gently. Because of the dyeing, the shade of the print may vary a little from piece to piece.
