Grapeseed oil with ylang ylang, orange and patchouli essential oils, in a 300 ml amber bottle. The pump lets you take just as much as you need. Use it for massage or add it to your bath water. The bottle is 18 cm tall and 6 cm across, and the oil is made in England.
Ylang ylang, the flower of the wedding bed
Ylang ylang is the yellow flower of a tropical tree. In Indonesia it is a custom to scatter its flowers over a newly married couple's bed. The oil smells sweet and heavy. In this blend, orange lightens it and patchouli gives it an earthy, woody base. Patchouli is a plant of the mint family grown in South-East Asia; its leaves are dried and the oil is distilled from them.
A massage for two
If you and your partner give each other a massage, one or two measures are enough for a back. Warm the oil in your palm and spread it with long, slow strokes. Grapeseed oil spreads easily, so there is no need to rub hard. The scent is rich, so a little goes a long way. Keep the bottle somewhere cool and dark, as citrus oils lose their scent sooner in light and warmth.
A few measures in the bath
Pump a few measures into the filled tub and swirl it through the water. The oil floats on top, and some of it reaches your skin as you sit down. Take care getting out, as the bottom of the bath will be slippery.
If you have sensitive skin, try it first on a small area such as the inside of your elbow and wait a day. The ingredient list is on the product page. Keep it away from your eyes.
