Luffa sponge with long handle — a natural, quiet shower routine
A luffa sponge mounted on a 42 cm handle, with a 7 cm sponge height. Luffa is not a sea sponge — it's the dried interior of a gourd-family plant, a natural fibrous network that softens in water and biodegrades at the end of its life, unlike synthetic sponges that shed microfibres into the drain.
How to use and care for it
Soak the luffa in warm water for about 30 seconds until it softens, then apply soap or shower gel and work in gentle circles. The long handle makes the middle of the back, shoulders and backs of the legs easy to reach. After use, rinse thoroughly, squeeze out most of the water (not bone-dry) and hang in an airy spot — never leave it crumpled in a wet closed space. Typically the luffa part should be replaced every 3–4 months; the wooden handle lasts much longer.
