Six semi-precious stones in one string
If you like natural materials that rest comfortably in the hand, this 111-bead mala can be a calm companion for meditation or a quiet morning moment. The string is made of six semi-precious stones: rock crystal, yellow onyx, red jasper, jade, lapis lazuli and carnelian alternate along the strand. Each stone carries its own shade, so the line builds up softly varying colours. The bead diameter is about 0.6 cm, the total length is 44 cm, so it rests easily in the hand or around the neck.
OM MANI PADME HUM stupa bead
At the centre of the mala there is a stupa-shaped bead of white metal, engraved with the OM MANI PADME HUM mantra in Tibetan script. This is one of the best-known Buddhist mantras, linked to compassion. According to tradition, the stupa bead recalls the presence of the teacher and helps the attention return to the breath and the mantra.
Five Dhyani Buddhas in the tassel
At the end of the mala there is a tassel woven from coloured threads. The five colours represent the five Dhyani Buddhas in the Tibetan tradition: white for Vairochana and space, red for Amitabha and fire, blue for Akshobhya and water, yellow for Ratnasambhava and earth, green for Amoghasiddhi and air. Besides the visual richness, these colours can also serve as a gentle anchor during meditation.
The number 111 and the hand work
A traditional mala has 108 beads; this version uses 111, which suits longer mantra counting practice as well. The string is made in India by hand and arrives in a textile pouch that makes storage and care easy. With a gross weight of only 50 grams, you can wear it the whole day around the neck without feeling weight.
Care notes
The semi-precious stones are natural materials, so each bead has its own pattern, and small differences are entirely normal. Keep the mala away from strong chemicals and perfume, and wipe it gently with a soft cloth from time to time. The qualities linked to the stones are based on user and traditional experiences and do not replace medical examination or treatment. For health concerns please consult a doctor.
