Five metal tubes hang from a crescent-shaped black wood frame, with a carved wooden wind catcher beneath bearing the yin-yang symbol. In the wind it gives a calm, serene sound — a resting point for the ear in the garden, on the balcony or beside the front door.
The yin-yang symbol
The yin-yang represents the unity of opposites and the search for balance in life: the ceaseless alternation of dark and light, of inward- and outward-turning forces. On a wind chime it is an especially fitting symbol, since the sound itself is born where movement meets stillness.
Sound and finish
The five tubes give a soft, harmonious ring; the black wood frame and yin-yang catcher lend a clean yet characterful look. It is about 35 cm long overall.
Good to know
Hang it in an airy spot sheltered from storms; protect the wood from prolonged damp.
