In Indonesia, artisans have spent decades giving new life to waste glass: collecting, melting, reforming — and turning it into wind chimes. This Blue Heart piece features a frame carved from driftwood and hand-formed blue glass pieces, one of which is heart-shaped. The slightest breeze draws out an ethereal, crystal-clear ringing — glass has a softer, more lyrical tone than metal. At 30×60 cm it looks beautiful on a terrace, balcony, in a garden or by a window.

Recycled glass – a second life for waste

Indonesian artisans melt collected glass bottles and hand-form each piece — this process makes every chime unique. The colour, form and translucency may vary slightly from piece to piece, which is the natural hallmark of handcraft. The driftwood frame is equally natural in origin: wood gathered from the shore, worked by sunlight and salt water, has an organic texture and distinctive character all its own.

Glass sound – lyrical and crystal-clear

Glass wind chimes produce a soft, lyrical, crystal-clear ring — noticeably gentler than the hollow knock of bamboo or the resonant hum of metal tubes. In a light breeze they give a discreet, pleasant melody; in stronger wind they remain agreeable because the glass elements chime rather than rattle. Simultaneously a decoration, a recycling story and a sound sculpture — it could become the soul of a terrace or balcony.
