What is in the 1 kg box
The box contains wild-crafted White Sage (Salvia apiana) leaves in loose, dried form. The leaves arrive in their natural, on-plant size; they are not powdered and not bound into bundles. The 1 kg format gives you a long supply even with frequent use.
Where the plant comes from
The sage comes from natural habitats in the United States, harvested from plants growing on their own. Being wild crafted, it is not cultivated and receives no chemical treatment. After harvest only drying is applied, so the plant's natural scent is preserved. There is no official organic certification attached.
Typical uses
Many people use White Sage to refresh a new home, to mark the closing and opening of important life stages, or as part of daily quiet time. For facilitators of group sessions the 1 kg format is practical and economical; for home use it offers a long supply. The leaves dose flexibly, from a small cluster to a larger handful.
How to smudge with it
Place a handful of leaves in a heatproof vessel, shell or thick-walled bowl. Light the edge, then blow out the flame so the leaves smoulder. You can fan the smoke through the chosen space and keep a window open. The embers sometimes go out; carefully relight the edge until you reach the amount of smoke you need.
Safety and storage
Never leave smouldering sage unattended. Always use a fireproof vessel, and keep it away from children, animals and flammable materials. Store the box in a dry, cool place out of sunlight, kept closed. If you have airway sensitivity, smudge in a well-ventilated space or consult a professional.
