Inspired by the African Kayamb
The instrument is based on the traditional African Kayamb. Inside, a multi-chamber system and a special internal construction create the wave effect: the tiny grains moving inside are slowed and guided by internal baffles, producing a continuous, rolling sound. The body is made of multilayer birch with a decorative veneer and the instrument is manufactured in Germany.
Short, medium and long shaker sounds in one instrument
Besides the wave effect, you can also use it as a classic shaker: it produces short, medium and long shaker sounds depending on how you move it. This makes it a great companion for live performances, traditional pieces, modern arrangements and experimental soundscapes alike. It measures approx. 40 × 10 × 1.9 cm and weighs only about 360-420 grams, so your hands will not tire even during longer sessions.
