A tube that sings under your hands
When struck, the Wah-Wah Tube produces a long-lasting, overtone-rich sound in C5 tuning - a clear, bright tone one octave above the middle C of a piano. By opening and closing the small hole on the tube with your palm, the sound begins to wave, as if the tube were speaking: this playful wah-wah effect gives the instrument its name and its charm.
For sound baths and quiet moments
The manufacturer specifically recommends it for sound baths, sound journeys, meditation and sound therapy sessions: the softly ringing, long-sustained tone helps you relax and fills the room pleasantly. You can also play it at home as part of your evening wind-down - it requires no musical training whatsoever and sounds beautiful from the very first stroke.
Extend your existing set
The C5 tube is fully rewarding on its own, and it can also be used as an extension of the maker's set of five Wah-Wah Tubes (tunings F5, G5, A5, C6 and D6) - so you can gradually build your own melodic tube ensemble.
Dimensions and accessory
The tube is 31.5 cm long with a diameter of 5 cm and weighs about 0.69 kg. A rubber head mallet is included, so you can start playing right away. Made in Germany.
A few practical tips
The tube sounds best when held loosely so it can vibrate freely - a tight grip mutes it quickly. Start with slow, even movements and notice how the pitch shifts with the position of your hand.
