A long-lasting tone with a playful wah-wah effect
The Wah-Wah Tube is a tuned metal tube that produces a long-lasting, overtone-rich sound in A4 tuning - the standard musical note A. By opening and closing the small opening with your palm, you create an exciting, undulating effect: the sound seems to come closer and move away, which is where the wah-wah name comes from.
How to play it
Hold the tube in one hand and strike it gently with the included rubber head mallet. Then open and close the opening with your other palm - and you will immediately hear the characteristic floating sound. No musical training is needed: after a few minutes of experimenting anyone can play it confidently. The tube is 37 cm long, 5 cm in diameter and weighs 0.8 kg.
