This brown and beige 22 cm box holds Vedic incense sticks with a patchouli and oudh scent. It is one of the deepest scents among the Vedic sticks, with earthy patchouli joined by the warm, rich note of oudh. The sticks are made in India.
Patchouli and agarwood
Patchouli is a tropical plant whose leaves smell earthy and slightly sweet. Agarwood is the dark, resinous heart of a Southeast Asian tree that forms only after injury or infection, which makes it rare. Oudh is its scent, long prized in the Middle East, where it is also burned to welcome guests. Together they give a dark, warm, woody scent.
For cool, dark evenings
It suits autumn and winter best, when it gets dark early and a candle is lit indoors. If you already know the plain patchouli Vedic incense, here the warm, woody note of oudh sits alongside it.
Patchouli became truly fashionable in Europe in the sixties and seventies, and for many it still brings that era to mind. With oudh, though, it turns into a more serious, deeper scent that suits a leather armchair, a bookcase and a record player.
In a small room, open a window a little
This is a bold scent, so in a small room a shorter burn is enough. To stop early, press the glowing tip into sand or ash. Use a heatproof holder, never leave it unattended, and keep a window slightly open.
You receive one slim box. The lettering may be in English or Spanish, and the larger box in the photo is the outer pack.
