Sound and character
The tuning key does not produce sound itself, but how cleanly you can tune your instrument depends on it. The bent, L-shaped form allows a comfortable grip and balanced force, so the strings can be tensioned gently and with control. Accurate tuning shapes the whole quality of the sound: a clear fundamental gives birth to rich overtones.
How to use
Place the head of the key on the 5 mm tuning pin and turn in small steps. While tuning, pluck the string and listen as the tone clears. You can set the desired pitch precisely either by ear or with a tuning device.
Why this product
This version is recommended if you use a Feeltone monochord or sound furniture with 5 mm pins and you prefer a classic, reliable L-shaped key. The robust construction and the comfortable shape will serve you for many years in your daily practice.
Care tips
- Always tune in small steps; do not over-tighten the string.
- Keep the key in a dry place so the metal parts do not corrode.
- Do not use it on 5.9 mm sound bed pins; it does not fit.
- Store it close to the instrument so it is always at hand.
About Feeltone
Feeltone is a handcraft instrument workshop based in Lassan, northern Germany, founded by Ingo Böhme. For more than two decades they have built monochords, sound beds, sound chairs and ceremonial drums for therapists, sound artists and meditation practitioners.
