741 Hz - the SO tone of the solfeggio scale
This tuning fork sounds the SO tone of the old solfeggio scale at precisely 741 Hz. Tradition links this tone to self-expression, intuition and finding solutions. In practice you hear a clear, ringing tone whose gentle vibration can also be felt in your hand through the handle - helping you focus your attention and settle into quietness.
Nickel-free steel, maple handle
The fork body is made of black oxide, nickel-free steel, so people with sensitive skin can use it with confidence. The warm-feeling maple wood handle offers a comfortable, secure grip. The fork is made in Germany with careful, precise tuning.
How to sound it
Hold the fork by its handle and tap the prongs gently against an activation pad or the soft part of your palm. The quiet, clear tone rings for several seconds; bring the fork close to your ear to listen, or touch the end of the handle to your body to feel the subtle vibration.
When is it useful?
For quiet moments, as a complement to sound baths, for winding down before sleep or as a signal tone for daily practice. Together with the other members of the solfeggio series it can be expanded into a complete set - the 741 Hz SO is the seventh tone of the series.
Size and care
The fork is 12.6 cm long and weighs only 74 grams, so it travels comfortably in a bag. After use, wipe it with a dry cloth and store it in a dry place - this keeps its tuning precise in the long run.
