The Schumann tone among the Earth and Moon tones
This tuning fork belongs to the Earth and Moon tone series and is tuned to 250.6 Hz - the so-called Schumann tone. When struck, it gives a clear, calm, long-sustaining tone whose gentle vibration can also be felt in your hand through the handle. The sound therapy tradition links this tone to balance of body and mind, mindful presence and relaxed, attentive alertness.
Careful craftsmanship: steel and maple
The fork body is made of black oxide, nickel-free steel, so it can be used with confidence even on sensitive skin. The maple wood handle provides a pleasant, warm grip and lets the fork ring out freely. The fork is 17.3 cm long and weighs just 74 grams - it fits in a handbag and can accompany you anywhere.
How to use it, step by step
Hold the handle and tap the prongs gently against a soft surface, such as the pad of your palm. Then hold the fork near your ear and follow the slowly fading tone, or touch the end of the handle to the body to feel the vibration directly. It works well for evening wind-down, breathing exercises and as a complement to sound baths.
Pairs well with the rest of the series
The Schumann fork can be combined with the other Earth and Moon tones of the series - for example the 136.1 Hz Earth year tone or the 128 Hz master fork - so you can gradually expand your set later. The tuning fork is made in Germany with careful workmanship.
