The Otto 128 hertz fork
This weighted aluminium tuning fork is tuned to 128 hertz, the C base tone. In sound therapy practice the fork is also known as Otto. The deep vibration works on the surface of your body, and many users report that the 128 hertz tone has a calming, grounding effect. We recommend this fork to you as a companion for rest and bodywork.
What 128 hertz offers you
The low, round 128 hertz tone is used to calm the nervous system and to gently accompany the bone structure. You can place the fork on the shoulder, the back, the arm or the leg. The weighted construction gives a longer, deeper vibration than the unweighted version. The tone is therefore soft and noticeably present on the body.
Material and packaging
The fork is made of aluminium, 21 centimetres long and weighing 41 grams. The tuning accuracy is within ±0.25 percent. A blue velvet pouch accompanies the fork, measuring 27×15 centimetres. The handcraft from India gives a modest, durable construction, so you can reliably bring out the 128 hertz tone for many years.
How to use it
Strike the head of the fork against your palm or a soft activator. Gently rest the stem of the fork on the chosen body area. The vibration lasts deep, and you will feel the tone travelling towards the bones. Begin the practice slowly, take longer pauses and notice how your body responds to repeated contact.
Storage and care
After use, wipe the fork with a soft, dry cloth and return it to the velvet pouch. Do not drop it on hard surfaces, as a weighted fork can change in tuning after a fall. Avoid damp rooms, and you will continue to hear a clear, deep tone for many years.
