The Manipura: the chakra of inner fire
The Manipura is the third main chakra, located in the solar plexus area above the navel. In the ancient Indian yoga tradition, this chakra is the centre of confidence, personal power, will and inner fire. When the Manipura is in balance, you make decisive choices and face challenges with inner serenity. The colour yellow and the fire element are associated with it.
The tuning of the fork
This tuning fork is tuned specifically to the frequency that harmonises with the vibration of the Manipura. The clearly ringing, vibrant sound can help the inner fire awaken and the willpower centre strengthen during meditation or sound therapy. You can strike the fork on an activator, then hold it near the area above the navel and feel how the vibration spreads.
How you can use it
The fork is ideal for morning meditation, preparing important decisions, creative work or kicking off an energetic day. You can use it at home, in a studio or outdoors. Many people find the Manipura fork particularly supportive during times when they wish to strengthen their own power or revive fading motivation.
How to play it
Hold the fork's handle between your thumb and forefinger. Tap it onto the soft surface of an activator to start the vibration. NEVER strike it against hard objects, as this may damage the fine tuning. After it sounds, hold your ear close to the fork or touch it to the area above the navel where the solar plexus chakra is located.
Care and storage
Store the fork in a dry place, away from prolonged moisture and chemicals. Wipe its surface occasionally with a soft, dry cloth. If the metal discolours, you can use a gentle silver-cleaning cloth, but carefully, so the tuning is not affected. A soft textile pouch or padded case is ideal for storage. With proper care, the fork will keep its original sound for many years.
