The Svadhisthana: the river of emotions
The Svadhisthana is the second main chakra, located below the navel in the pelvic area. In the ancient Indian yoga tradition, this chakra is the centre of emotions, creativity, passions and natural joy. When the Svadhisthana is in balance, you experience deep feelings freely and easily find the creative source. The colour orange and the water element are associated with it.
The tuning of the fork
This tuning fork is tuned specifically to the frequency that harmonises with the vibration of the Svadhisthana. The soft, flowing sound can help emotions naturally surface during meditation or sound therapy, and open the creative current. You can strike the fork on an activator, then hold it near different points of the body and feel the vibration.
How you can use it
The fork is ideal as you prepare for creative work, for meditation, sound therapy or a longer, relaxing session. You can use it at home, in a studio or in a quiet outdoor setting. Many people find the Svadhisthana fork particularly supportive during emotionally difficult times, as the softness of the sound can return the natural rhythm of emotional flow.
How to play it
Hold the fork's handle between your thumb and forefinger. Tap it onto the soft surface of an activator to start the vibration. NEVER strike it against hard objects, as this may damage the fine tuning. After it sounds, hold your ear close to the fork or touch it to the area below the navel where the sacral chakra is located.
Care and storage
Store the fork in a dry place, away from prolonged moisture and chemicals. Wipe its surface occasionally with a soft, dry cloth. If the metal discolours, you can use a gentle silver-cleaning cloth, but carefully, so the tuning is not affected. A soft textile pouch or padded case is ideal for storage. With proper care, the fork will keep its original sound for many years.
