What is this tea set for?
This is a compact set that suits travel, a cabin weekend, a holiday flat or an office. With three cups, it fits groups where three people regularly drink tea together: a parent with two children, three colleagues. If used just by a pair, one cup stays as a showpiece on the tray or waits for an unexpected guest.
Who is it for?
Three-person weekend campers. Three-person families who enjoy a shared tea ritual. Hosts who invite smaller groups and want a more intimate set alongside their large one. Housewarming, moving-in gifts, students in a dorm — it holds its ground anywhere. The Chinese motif also makes it a welcome gift for anyone drawn to East Asian aesthetics.
How to use it
Before first use, hand-wash all pieces with warm water. When travelling, wrap pot and cups separately in soft cloth or a kitchen towel. Always pour hot water into the pot from a thermos or kettle — never place it over direct flame. Use a separate tea infuser for loose leaf, as there is no built-in strainer. Add water, cover the pot, steep 2–4 minutes depending on the tea, then pour into the three cups.
About the design
The "Three Friends" (sān jūn zǐ and similar expressions) in Chinese tradition often refers to spring plants — bamboo, plum, pine — that keep their green through winter. This set doesn't depict those specific plants, but draws on the "three together" idea expressed through the small cups. The form is simplified and travel-optimised — every cup nests neatly around the pot inside the box.
