Tolstoi F1 tomato is a new variety similar in habit to the Lugas types — an indeterminate hybrid that can reach 2.5–3 m, bearing 80–120 g clustered fruits. Improved disease tolerance and even ripening make this a fine modern alternative for traditional trellis-tomato lovers.
Sowing and care
Sowing time: February–March in seed trays, transplant outdoors after frost. Row spacing 80 cm, plant spacing 60 cm. Sturdy stakes or trellis required — the plant grows 2.5–3 m. Remove side shoots and tie regularly. Even ripening means efficient harvest.
The medium-large clustered fruits are perfect for fresh eating, salads, sandwiches, and home tomato sauce. Tolstoi F1 brings the rich, traditional Hungarian tomato flavour with the added confidence of modern disease tolerance — a great choice for gardeners upgrading from older Lugas varieties.
