Sound and character
This version of the Tinka Tong Terra is tuned to the standard 440 Hz concert pitch, so it can be combined effortlessly with other instruments tuned to the conventional reference. The six tongues offer a warm, full and melodic character, while the padauk and cherry wood pair produces a dense, woody yet singing resonance. The Terra scale feels open and grounded — ideal for melodic playing or for balancing more metallic timbres.
How to use
The 440 Hz Tinka Tong Terra fits naturally into teaching, educational and therapeutic settings where it will be played alongside other instruments. It is equally rewarding for sound massage, yoga, meditation, children's sessions and group musical improvisation. As part of the Elemental Soundscapes set it pairs especially well with Feeltone monochords tuned in C and F.
Why this product
If you want a wooden tongue drum that aligns with the standard 440 Hz concert pitch, this is the version to choose. Its intuitive playability and comfortable size make it instantly accessible, even without musical training. The compact format means you can easily bring it to yoga classes, therapy rooms or on the road.
