What the 13 cm size offers
This version is a little larger than the 12 cm one, so its sound is fuller and deeper in tone. It is a friendly choice both for a home meditation corner and for smaller group practice. You will likely enjoy how, even with a single strike, the ringing lasts longer, and how the sound spreads gently and reassuringly through the room over several seconds in everyday life as well.
The details of the Healing Buddha motif
On the outer and inner sides of the bowl, traditional symbols of the Healing Buddha appear, with carefully worked engravings. In Eastern tradition, the motif evokes a path toward inner stillness and calm. You do not need to know the symbolism in detail, since the craftsmanship itself is a pleasing sight on the shelf and in your hand on every occasion.
How to make it sound
With the included striker, gently tap the rim of the bowl in one spot, and the sound rises and floats across the room. If you slowly move the striker around the rim, the bowl will sing continuously with a deep, ringing tone. A few minutes of practice at the beginning is enough, and you will soon be able to play the bowl confidently at home.
Where you can use it comfortably
In a meditation corner, as a signal for the start and end of a session. Before home yoga, to introduce a relaxation phase. As a companion to evening reading or a few quiet minutes of sitting before bed. In families with children, a single ringing tone of the bowl can mark the beginning of storytelling, and it is also lovely when welcoming guests at home.
Cleaning and care
After use, wipe the outer and inner surface of the bowl with a soft, dry cloth. Lift heavier residue gently with a slightly damp cloth, then dry it right away. Avoid strong metal cleaners, scouring powders and alcohol-based cleaners, because the fine motif on the surface of the bowl may otherwise be damaged.
