Tibetan Singing Bowl – De-Wa – approx. 41 cm

De-Wa Tibetan singing bowl approximately 41 cm with a room-sized, long-sustaining tone. Recommended for studios, treatment rooms and sound work.

The big sibling of the De-Wa family

A diameter around 41 cm already fills a whole room: you receive a deep, long-sustained vibration that settles slowly and stays in the space for a long time. For someone who regularly holds sound work or larger group meditation, this piece is almost basic equipment.

Where it really comes into its own

It feels at home in a yoga studio, in a group sound therapy session, in a massage and rest room. You can also give your guests an experience whose vibration they feel in the whole body. At home it fits a larger, quieter room where no other noise pushes its way in front of the tone.

Place and support

It is a heavy piece with a larger diameter, so we suggest a low, stable stool and an especially thick sound bowl cushion. Two people may help when moving it, so the hold stays sure and the playing rim is not damaged. A level surface is what matters.

Slow movement along the rim

Take a heavier leather-wrapped mallet. Guide it along the rim with medium pressure, slowly, and do not rush the tone. After a few seconds the deep hum arrives and gradually grows. If you lose the rhythm, lift the mallet and start again: this is entirely normal.

Long-term use

Wipe with a dry soft cloth. The patina and small unevenness that appear on the surface over time belong to its character and do not lessen its value. Keep it away from damp rooms. The faint marks forming on the base rim from resting on the cushion are perfectly normal, just as with the 29 cm sibling. Once a year it is worth checking that the rim has remained smooth, because the dense, circular mallet movement shows there first. With proper care you may enjoy the same full, long-sustained fundamental for decades.
