A sound that has taken form
The OM (or OHM) symbol is one of the best-known characters in Indian and Buddhist tradition – traditionally evoking the sound of creation, the founding vibration of the universe. On this box it appears finely embossed into the aluminium lid, with a bold yet tasteful contour. A short history of OM
The symbol has been present in Hindu and Buddhist texts for thousands of years – for many it represents the opening sound of meditation, for others simply a beautiful, familiar graphic element. According to tradition the three parts of the sound (A-U-M) represent the cycles of creation, preservation and dissolution. You do not need to give it a religious meaning – it is a culturally deep-rooted symbol carried in artistic form on this box.
A size that is comfortable to use
The interior is 18 × 13 cm with a 6 cm height – matching exactly the dimensions of a classic 78-card tarot deck. There is room left for a soft fabric pouch, a small crystal piece, or a few rings and earrings. The soft felt lining protects against scratches, so the surface of the cards stays intact for a long time. The 452 g weight gives a confident, solid feel without becoming heavy when travelling.
Craftsmanship and small details
The body is made of wood, while the surface of the lid is a thin aluminium plate on which the OM symbol is carefully embossed. The meeting of the two materials gives a pleasant feel and visual contrast. At the bottom 4 small rubber feet make sure the box does not slide on the table or scratch the furniture. The lid lifts upwards and closes smoothly.
Care that is easy for you
The metal lid should not be exposed to standing moisture, so the fine OM contour keeps its sharpness. Against dust and fingerprints a soft dry, or slightly damp cloth, is perfect. The felt lining can be dusted with a soft brush. If the rubber feet at the bottom wear out a little over time, they can be reattached with small pieces of double-sided tape at any moment.
