A lid carrying a beloved symbol
The image of the dreamcatcher comes from the tradition of the indigenous peoples of North America: the web lets the good dreams pass through and filters out the unpleasant ones. This box features an embossed aluminium dreamcatcher pattern on the lid – with finely worked lines, a small round centre and gently flowing feathers. It is hand-made by an Indian craftsperson, and you receive a piece that may end up right on your bedside table.
What the dreamcatcher symbolises
Many people hang the symbolic protective object above the bed so that not only the sight but also the meaning accompanies their dreams. Appearing on a small object, the motif carries the same gentle reminder: that during rest, everything around you can feel warm and homely. You do not need to give it a religious meaning – it is a beautiful geometric line and a culturally deep-rooted gesture.
A comfortable inner space
The 18 × 13 cm interior and 6 cm height comfortably hold a classic 78-card tarot deck, with room left for a thinner oracle deck, a small crystal piece, earrings or little notes. The soft felt lining protects sensitive paper surfaces from scratching. It feels as if a small jewellery box and a card holder had been brought together.
Craftsmanship and materials
The body is made of wood, while the surface of the lid is a thin aluminium sheet on which the contour of the dreamcatcher is embossed. The meeting of the two materials gives a pleasant feel. At the bottom 4 small rubber feet make sure the box stands stably on the table, neither sliding nor scratching the surface. The total weight of 520 g fits well in your hand without feeling heavy.
Tips for lasting beauty
The metal lid should not be exposed to standing moisture for long. Against dust and fingerprints, a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp one, is perfect. The felt lining can be dusted with a fine soft brush. If the rubber feet loosen over time, they can be reattached with small pieces of double-sided tape at any moment. In this way the box keeps for many years the lovely character for which you chose it.
