A tall, slim industrial lamp with a black iron frame on a three-legged base. It comes without salt, and you fill the open frame yourself. The bulb and an EU plug cable are in the box, and the plug fits standard sockets in Hungary and most of continental Europe. Empty, it weighs about half a kilo. Made in China.
Three legs and a tall frame
The three legs hold the tall frame steady. Its height makes it easy to spot from across a room, so it suits a corner, a sideboard or a chest of drawers in the hallway. Stand it on a flat, level surface so it does not wobble.
Pink and white salt in one frame
The filling is your choice. Use only pink or only white Himalayan salt chunks, or mix them. In a tall frame the two colours also look good in layers, pink at the bottom and white on top. When layering, put the larger chunks at the bottom and the smaller ones on top, so the filling does not slump.
You can fill it with translucent stones too, such as rock crystal or rose quartz, and the light will glow through them. Solid pebbles make the lamp darker, with light escaping only through the gaps.
Salt, damp air and a warm bulb
The bulb warms up while it is on, so keep pine cones, dried flowers and paper out of the frame. Salt draws moisture from the air, so once filled, the lamp belongs in a dry room, not a bathroom. Stand it on a mat. If the salt turns damp, switch the lamp on for a few hours and the warmth of the bulb will dry it.
Before changing the bulb, unplug the cable and let it cool.
