Rügen strawberry is one of the favourites of balcony gardens. Vineless, small-fruited, extremely aromatic variety — the classic forest strawberry flavour concentrated in small fruits. Can also be grown in balcony boxes. Early started, fruits from spring onwards.
Growing
Sow in February–March in seed trays. Transplant in May. Row and plant spacing 20 cm.
Fresh, on yoghurt, in muesli, in pancakes, home-made strawberry jam. A handful can be picked daily as a balcony treat.
