The lotus motif and the crystal spheres
At the centre of the piece is a wooden lotus carving, surrounded by hanging amethyst pieces and polished glass crystal spheres. When sunlight comes through the spheres, the light forms round patches in your room, and these gently move on the wall as the spheres turn. The effect is especially lovely on spring and summer afternoons.
Size and weight
The total width is around 30 cm and the height is 15 cm, so the piece fits well on a medium window or on a door pane. The weight is about 130 grams, which hangs stably from a hook or a clip on a curtain rod. You can also place it comfortably using a small holder attached to a window frame.
The materials
The lotus is made of wood, the support elements of stainless steel, and the crystal spheres of cut glass. The amethyst pieces are natural stones, so they show small tone differences, which is a typical feature of real semi-precious stone. The different materials together give the piece a warm, hand-finished feel.
Where it comes from
The suncatcher is produced in China, where there is long experience in making such combined wood, metal and glass decorations. It arrives in a cardboard box, which makes it suitable for gifting if you would like to surprise someone with a carefully chosen window decoration.
Cleaning and care
Wipe the crystal spheres from time to time with a soft, dry cloth so dust does not dim the light effect. Do not expose the wooden lotus to direct water; if cleaning is needed, work carefully with a slightly damp cloth and then dry the surface. With this simple care you can keep the beauty of the piece for many years.
