Suncatcher with Amethyst Stones and Rhombuses

Slim suncatcher about 50 cm long with amethyst stones and rhombus-shaped crystals. Metal-and-copper frame casting rainbow light in your room.

The play of the rhombus-shaped crystals

On this piece amethyst stones alternate with rhombus-shaped glass crystals on a slim metal-and-copper frame about 50 cm long. When sunlight passes through the rhombuses, the light scatters in several directions and draws small light patterns on the wall, a shelf or the curtain. You will see little light patches moving around your room as the sun travels.

Where to place it

The suncatcher shows its best when you hang it on a south- or west-facing window where afternoon sunshine comes in strongly. A small hook on a window frame or a clip on a curtain rod is enough support, because the whole piece weighs only 54 grams. It looks especially lovely near plants, because the amethyst and the green leaves work together well.

The materials and size

The frame is metal and copper, the stones are natural amethyst pieces, and the rhombuses are cut glass crystals. The amethyst shows small tone differences, which is a typical feature of natural stone. The overall length is around 50 cm, so you can dress an average-sized window across its full height.

Where it comes from

The suncatcher is produced in China, where there is long experience in making such metal, glass and semi-precious stone compositions. It arrives in a cardboard box, suitable for you to pass on as a gift if you want to surprise someone with a lovely, bright window decoration.

Cleaning and lasting use

Wipe the surface from time to time with a soft, dry cloth so dust does not dim the light effect. Do not use chemical cleaners directly on the piece; for stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and then dry it off. With this simple care the stones and the metal frame keep their beauty for many years.
