Smooth, tumbled sulphur quartz stones in a warm, yellowish tone. The palm-friendly form is ideal as a pocket stone, for meditation or a mineral collection.
The stone of sulphur quartz
Sulphur quartz is quartz tinted a warm, sun-yellow tone by tiny sulphurous, yellowish inclusions; its Mohs hardness is around 7. B-quality stones also reveal the natural mineral’s varied internal patterning. In crystal lore it is known as a stone of intention, creativity and willpower, and tradition links it with the solar plexus chakra and goal-oriented, manifesting energy.
The tumbled form
Tumbled stones gain their smooth, rounded surface through long polishing, which makes them sit pleasantly in the palm – a favourite as a pocket stone and meditation piece. This selection is mixed A/B quality: as a natural mineral, each piece can differ in shade, pattern and clarity, and every stone is unique. Pieces typically range between 0.5 and 2.5 cm.
Ways to use it
Sulphur quartz works beautifully as a pocket stone, on a desk or in a crystal corner. Its warm, yellow tone brings a driven, purposeful mood to a space.
Care and good to know
This is a durable mineral, yet it is worth protecting from knocks and abrasive surfaces and storing apart from other stones. Now and then you can rinse it under lukewarm water and pat it dry with a soft cloth.
