The triangle is one of the oldest and simplest percussion instruments: a metal rod bent into a triangular shape, played with a beater. Why the 4-inch size?
This piece is the smaller studio size, with sides of about 10 cm. A smaller triangle gives a higher, finer tone with a shorter ring than larger models, which is why it works especially well on recordings, in smaller rooms and in quieter musical settings - wherever a large triangle would be too powerful. The complete package weighs just 300 grams.
Handle and beater included
The instrument comes with a handle and a beater, so there is nothing else for you to acquire: pick it up and start playing. The handle matters because the triangle can only ring freely when suspended - if you held the metal directly, the sound would be muffled instantly.
