Stone-Washed T-Shirt, M Size - Hamsa - Grey

Stone-washed 100% cotton T-shirt with a Hamsa motif — grey, M size. Soft, breathable, vintage character from Nepal.

Nomád Sari stone-washed T-shirts are made from 100% natural cotton in Nepal, with a double stone-washing process. This M-sized, grey piece carries the Hamsa motif — a drawing of an open palm with a stylised eye in the centre, one of humanity's most widely recognised protective symbols.

What is the Hamsa, and where does it come from

The word "Hamsa" means five in Arabic, referring to the five fingers — the open hand. Also called the Hand of Fatima or the Hand of Miriam, it has been present for thousands of years in the popular and domestic art of the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. It is not bound to a specific religious doctrine or esoteric teaching: it is more of a shared, cross-cultural gesture standing for peaceful intent and protective attention.

Why a grey base

Grey is neither loud nor dull. It is just neutral enough to let the white-and-black Hamsa print stand out clearly, while not competing with the rest of your outfit. Whether you pair it with denim, linen trousers, or chinos, grey works with almost everything. With white summer trousers it feels light and holiday-like; with black chinos it leans toward a more urban, refined look.

The M-size cut

An M piece measures approximately 64 cm long and 45 cm wide at the chest. A classic, slightly roomy, comfortable cut — it does not pinch but also does not hang loose. If you normally wear M, you will likely enjoy this fit. If you are unsure, please write to us: we are happy to help with the choice based on current stock.

Stone-washing — what it does

Stone-washed cotton feels soft and "lived-in" from the first wear — it never feels factory-stiff. The stone-washing process pre-shrinks the fabric, so the size stays stable through later washes, and the Hamsa print adheres better to the already-worked surface. This is why Nomád Sari pieces can remain visibly sharp and characterful years later.

When to wear it

A Hamsa-print shirt is not a special-occasion piece. It is made for the morning coffee, for writing at home, for a walk, a bookshop, a café, a family picnic, an afternoon after yoga class — for these moments. A wooden or leather bracelet, perhaps a simple silver necklace, complements it gently without drawing attention away from the hand motif.

Washing and care

Wash at 30°C inside out — the first few washes are especially important. Avoid bleach and strong fabric softeners, which can blanch the Hamsa outlines over time. Air-dry in the shade; tumble-drying speeds up print wear. Ironing is generally unnecessary; if you must, shield the Hamsa with a thin cloth. The shirt will keep its character for years.
