An agate cut into a star, with a small, glittering crystalline centre inside: it works equally well as a decorative object and as a piece to hold in the hand. Its size ranges between 4 and 6 cm.
The agate star
Agate is the banded variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz; along the star's points the fine layers of colour and the crystalline pocket at the centre are clearly visible. It is a hard, durable mineral, around 7 on the Mohs scale. Tradition knows it as a stone of grounding and stability. The star shape has long been a symbol of light, direction and hope – a small point of brightness in a quiet corner of the room. These are traditional meanings, not health claims.
Good to know
This is a natural product, so the exact size, shape and colour vary from piece to piece and may differ from the picture. So each star is unique. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and makes a lovely addition to a meditation corner or a shelf.
