Inside the box are 12 brown backflow incense cones. Their scent is a blend of lemon, lime and grapefruit. They are made by Stamford, and the front of the box carries the name “Energising” in English. Made in India.
Why the smoke flows downwards
Each cone has a small hollow in its base that leads into a narrow channel inside. Set the cone on top of a backflow incense burner and the smoke travels down through this channel, then rolls down the burner like a waterfall. The cone also burns without such a burner, but you only see the falling smoke on one.
No burner comes in the box; you can pick one from our backflow incense burners.
A citrus scent
You will also find the scent notes on the box: lemon, lime and grapefruit. It is a fresh, zesty fruit scent, far from woody or resinous incense. If you like to light incense in the morning, or simply do not care for heavier scents, it is worth trying.
Burning step by step
Place the cone in the hollow on top of the burner so that the opening in its base sits over the hole in the burner. Light the tip and blow out the flame after a few seconds. From then on it smoulders, and soon the smoke starts to flow downwards.
Put the burner on a heat-resistant surface out of draughts, because a draught scatters the falling smoke. Keep it away from anything flammable and out of reach of children and pets, and do not leave it unattended. Air the room afterwards, and store the remaining cones in their box somewhere dry.
