A traditional aroma lamp for a calmer home

The Square Mango Wood Aroma Lamp - Hamsa is a classic water-and-oil aroma lamp, hand-carved from mango wood in India. A few drops of your favourite essential oil and a tealight are all you need — the gentle warmth releases the fragrance slowly into the room, creating a quiet, settled atmosphere for reading, yoga or simply unwinding after a long day.

The Hamsa motif

The carved Hamsa motif on the side panels is the centrepiece of the design. Hand-finished by skilled artisans, each piece carries small variations in the grain and carving that give it a unique character — no two lamps are ever identical. The warm honey-brown tone of the wood pairs beautifully with most interior styles, from minimalist to bohemian.

How to use it safely

Place the lamp on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from curtains, paper and anything flammable. Pour a little water into the upper bowl, add a few drops of essential oil, then light a tealight underneath. The water gently warms and carries the fragrance through the room. Never leave a lit lamp unattended, keep it out of reach of children and pets, and always let it cool fully before refilling.

Cleaning and care

Empty the bowl after use and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. From time to time, a little warm soapy water will help remove any oil residue from the dish. Avoid soaking the wooden body in water — a quick wipe is enough to keep the lamp looking its best for years.

Size and origin

The lamp measures roughly 10 by 10 centimetres and weighs around 300 g, making it easy to move from one room to another. It comes from India, where craftsmen have worked with mango wood for generations, using sustainable offcuts from the fruit-bearing trees once they no longer produce fruit.
