Spaghetti squash, in folk Hungarian 'God-grated squash', is a true kitchen curiosity. Growing time 85 days. The fruit is 1.5–2 kg, skin pale yellow, flesh bright lemon yellow. The specialty: boiled or baked, the flesh falls into spaghetti-like strands.
Growing
Sow in April–May. Row spacing 80 cm, plant spacing 100 cm, sowing depth 3–4 cm.
Cut in half and baked until soft, scrape the flesh out with a fork like spaghetti. Serve with bolognese, tomato sauce.
