This pack holds 20 kg of soy wax for candle making. It melts at 55 °C, is plant-based and is made in China. The photos show a single large white block wrapped in film, and you can cut off the amount you need with a knife.
How many candles does 20 kg make?
Roughly a hundred 200 g candles, or two hundred smaller 100 g ones. If you pour candles regularly, this keeps you supplied for a long time without frequent reordering. Before Christmas you can pour a good number of gift candles from it for family and friends.
Mix in fragrance and colour
The pack contains soy wax only, with no scent or colour. After melting, stir in candle fragrance oil and dye, then pour it into glass jars, metal tins or ceramic pots where you have already set the wick. You can also use it to pour scented wax melts.
What is not in the pack
Wicks, fragrance oil, dye and containers are sold separately. Melt the wax in a double boiler or a dedicated melting pot, never over a direct flame, and don't leave hot wax unattended.
Start with a test candle
Before you pour a larger amount, make a single candle and burn it for a few hours. That shows you how this wax behaves with your wick, container and fragrance oil, and for the rest you simply repeat what worked.
As it melts at 55 °C, store it somewhere cool and dry. In summer it may soften in direct sun or in a hot car.
