Smooth, tumbled sodalite stones in deep blue with white veining. The larger 4–6 cm size makes a lovely palm stone, decoration or collector’s piece.
The stone of sodalite
Sodalite is a deep-blue feldspathoid mineral threaded with characteristic white (calcite) veining; its Mohs hardness is around 5.5–6. Its full, royal-blue colour and marbled patterning give it a noble look. In crystal lore it is known as a stone of harmony, trust and acceptance, and tradition links it with clear communication, self-knowledge and insight.
The tumbled form
Tumbled stones gain their smooth, rounded surface through long polishing, which makes them sit pleasantly in the palm – a favourite as a pocket stone and meditation piece. This selection is A quality: as a natural mineral, each piece can differ in shade, pattern and clarity, and every stone is unique. Pieces typically range between 4 and 6 cm.
Ways to use it
At the larger 4–6 cm size, sodalite makes a lovely palm stone, decoration or collector’s piece; it looks beautiful on a desk or in a crystal corner. Its deep blue brings a calm, composed mood to a space.
Care and good to know
Sodalite is moderately hard (Mohs around 5.5–6), so protect it from knocks and scratches and store it apart. Wipe it with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth; long soaking is best avoided.
