Soapstone incense holder with Buddha motif
The Soapstone Hamsa Incense Stand 9x6 cm Buddha is a hand-carved holder made from solid Indian soapstone, shaped by craftsmen using traditional chisels and files. At the centre of the 9 cm tray rests a meditating Buddha, a timeless symbol of inner peace, mindfulness and balanced presence. Each piece shows its own subtle pattern of veins and shades, so no two are exactly alike. Soapstone has a soft, slightly waxy feel thanks to its high talc content and has been used in India for centuries in carvings, bowls and incense holders. The material is heat-resistant and distributes warmth evenly; a cone, however, burns down on the tray and warms the stone beneath it, so only handle the holder once it has cooled. How to use
Insert the stick into the central hole, tilted slightly towards the middle. Light the tip, then blow out the flame and let it smoulder. Ash falls into the recessed bowl, leaving nearby surfaces clean. Cones sit directly on the central area. Always keep the holder on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from anything flammable, never leave burning incense unattended, and make sure the ember dies down fully after use.
Care and placement
Dust with a soft dry cloth and sweep out ash with a small brush. An occasional wipe with a lightly damp cloth is fine; avoid abrasive cleaners and impact damage as soapstone is soft. The 121 g weight is enough to keep the 9 cm tray stable on a nightstand, side table, bookshelf or home altar.
