This singing bowl, 50 cm in diameter, 20 cm tall and weighing 10.7 kg, is one of the largest and deepest-sounding pieces in the Természetkosár range. It is so large and heavy that you can play it while standing on its surface - the metal wall vibrates slowly and for a long time, and the sound creates a perceptible vibration throughout your entire body. Crafted by Nepali masters who hand-hammer each piece following traditional Tibetan singing bowl methods. Its smooth, polished surface produces a clear, even fundamental tone.

What it feels like to play

When you draw a larger mallet around the bowl's rim, the sound builds gradually and continues to resonate for a long time - up to half a minute. The 10.7 kg mass gives this sustained resonance: smaller singing bowls fade faster, but this one almost fills the space. You will feel that you not only hear the sound but also feel it passing through your chest, back, and body.

Who we recommend it for

This size is ideal for sound therapy practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers, and instructors leading larger group sessions. If you work in a large room (15-30-person meditation circle, yoga group, sound bath ceremony), the sound of smaller bowls may get lost - this one fills the space evenly. It can also be chosen for private home use, but its size requires dedicated placement.

The advantage of the smooth surface

Smooth-surface singing bowls - as opposed to hammered-pattern ones - produce a cleaner fundamental tone with fewer overtones. This means the fundamental is more clearly audible and easier to modulate with the mallet. For sound therapy work this is a great advantage, because the tone is even and not disturbed by unexpected overtone variations.

Standing form

The bowl is shaped so that it stands stably on its own base - no separate ring cushion is needed (although a cushion is recommended for cleaner sound). It also sounds particularly beautiful on a cushion or rug. It can be used on a table or floor.

Handcrafted nature and handling

Due to the hand-hammering, every piece is unique: small surface variations and fine patterning are all natural characteristics of handcraft. Brass may develop a patina over time - you can decide whether to keep it polished (occasionally wiped with a soft cloth) or let it mature naturally. Do not leave water on it. As it weighs nearly 11 kg, lift it with two hands and place it on a stable surface.
