Small palo santo stand in teak — with a Hamsa hand

This small teak palo santo stand is the compact sibling of the taller Hamsa piece. At 15 cm long, 7 cm wide and just 6 cm high, it carries the same symbolism — protection, inner strength — in a quieter form that fits smaller shelves, travel pouches, and meditation cushions taken from place to place.

Balanced and portable

The 100 g weight gives the stand just enough mass to stay put on a flat surface, yet it is easy to tuck into a soft cloth bag for workshops or retreats. A shallow recess on the top cradles the smouldering palo santo, catching stray ember pieces and ash rather than letting them scatter.

How to use it step by step

1. Light one end of a palo santo stick for 30–60 seconds. 2. Gently blow it out so it smoulders. 3. Rest the glowing end in the recess and let the smoke rise. 4. After 30–90 seconds, the ember fades naturally in the same recess. Never leave a smouldering stick unattended, and keep flammable items, children and pets at a safe distance.

Teak — a quietly enduring material

Teak's natural oils resist moisture and handle the mild heat of palo santo well, and the wood patinas gracefully with use. Brush off cooled ash with a soft brush, wipe occasionally with a slightly damp cloth, and refresh once a year with a drop of furniture oil to keep the warm tone and the carved Hamsa clearly defined.
