Sisal versus loofah
Both are natural plant fibres and both exfoliate well. Loofah is firmer and coarser — a stronger scrub. Sisal is finer and more flexible — kinder on sensitive skin and more pleasant for daily use. If loofah felt a bit rough for you, sisal is the right fit.
How to use
Wet the sponge with warm water (half a minute is enough). Apply shower gel to the sisal surface. Work in circles from ankles upwards. Sisal produces a rich, creamy lather — pleasant for people with drier skin.
Care
Rinse after use, squeeze out water, hang to dry in an airy spot. Once a month, soak for five minutes in mildly soapy water and dry fully. Replace every four to six months — sisal is biodegradable and goes on the compost.
