Cut from amethyst, this obelisk has six smooth sides and a pointed tip. It stands about 11 cm tall, was made in India, and you receive one obelisk.
Purple quartz with whitish bands
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz. On this obelisk the deep purple areas are broken up by whitish bands that are see-through in places, and where the stone is clear, light shines through it. When amethyst is strongly heated it turns yellow, and some of the citrine on sale is made this way.
As a natural stone, no two pieces are alike. The shade of purple and the pattern of the bands may differ from the photo, and your obelisk may be a little shorter or taller.
A crystal shape, cut true
In nature, amethyst crystals also grow as six-sided columns with a pointed end. The obelisk follows that shape, only cut evenly, so it stands on its flat base by itself. If you keep several crystals, set it in the middle or at the back of the group, where its point becomes the highest spot. It is small enough to stand in front of a row of books.
For a meditation corner or a desk
Amethyst is traditionally the stone of meditation and clear thinking. If you like to sit quietly for a while each day, place it in front of you where your eyes can rest on it.
Strong direct sun can fade the purple over time. In a shadier spot, such as a glass cabinet or a bookcase, it keeps its colour for a long time. Wipe off dust with a soft, dry cloth and take care that it does not fall on a hard floor.
