Shasta sage is a finer, less penetrating-scented alternative to white sage, while playing a similar role in the space-clearing tradition. This set of two contains hand-tied bundles in size S.
About Shasta sage
Shasta sage (Salvia leucophylla) is also known in Mexico as blue sage, for the colour it shows when in bloom. Its scent is gentler than that of white sage, while its traditional use is similar: clearing spaces and the atmosphere. A good choice for anyone who prefers a softer, less assertive smoke.
About the smudging tradition
A smudge bundle is an all-natural ceremonial incense, traditionally used in Native American cultures to cleanse spaces, people and objects. Clearing a space with plant smoke is an ancient practice that lives on in many parts of the world today. Once lit, the bundle releases a dense, fragrant smoke that gently moves through a room.
How to use it
Light the end of the bundle, then let it smoulder with gentle fanning and guide the smoke towards the space or object. Ventilate well afterwards. Always rest the smouldering bundle in a fireproof bowl or shell, and never leave it unattended.
Good to know
The set contains two bundles, each about 10 cm long, hand-tied from natural plant material. Every piece is unique.
