Turquoise fishcatcher flower stand from Bali
The turquoise Shaman Tree Whalebird Flower Stand is one of the most loved variants: the Caribbean-sea blue tone instantly brings a fresh, Mediterranean mood into any room. Measuring 37 cm long, 26 cm wide and 19.5 cm tall, the carved fish silhouette running along its body is the signature of Balinese craftspeople. The lightly patinated surface lets the natural wood tone peek through here and there, giving the piece a lived-in character.
Use and load
The 0.96 kg frame sits firmly on parquet, tile or stone. The flat top safely holds 5-10 kg of potted plant — roughly a lush palm in a 25 cm pot, a mature ficus, or a generous cut-flower arrangement. Avoid loads over 15 kg. Beyond plants, it works beautifully as a base for ceramic objects, lanterns or small stacks of books.
Care
Dust weekly with a soft cloth. Remove marks with a barely damp cloth only; avoid detergents, as the painted surface is sensitive to alkaline cleaners. Once a year, check that the joinery is still tight — any minor loosening can be fixed with household wood glue. Each piece is hand-carved and hand-painted, so the turquoise tone varies slightly between examples.
