A seven-piece lotus mood light set in the seven chakra colours, with a gold rim. Placed together or apart, they bring a warm, colourful light to the home.
The lotus and the chakras
The lotus is a symbol of the path from darkness into light, from ignorance into knowledge; tradition also links it to the seven energy centres, the chakras. In tradition the seven main chakras are the body's energy centres, each tied to a colour and a level of consciousness – from the root (red) to the crown (violet). Each piece in the set echoes one chakra colour.
Material and finish
Capiz is the translucent outer shell of a marine mollusc, Placuna placenta (the windowpane oyster). It takes its name from the town of Capiz on the Philippine island of Panay, where it was originally gathered from the shallow coastal waters. Once cleaned, the shell turns naturally translucent, and when painted it lets light and colour play together beautifully. Capiz is a natural material, so small irregularities may appear – part of its handmade character. The petals are held by a gold frame.
Light and mood
The petals are made of translucent capiz panes on a fine metal frame. The light of a tealight glows softly through them, casting a warm, atmospheric shimmer. A lovely accent for a meditation corner, evening reading or quietly setting the mood of a room. For safety, a LED tealight is recommended. The seven pieces can be arranged in a row, a circle or at different points in the room.
Good to know
Capiz is a natural material, so each piece is unique and the shades may vary slightly. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.
