Selenite Satin Round Bowl

Round selenite bowl from Morocco with strong satin shimmer. For storing your jewellery and minerals, and as a tabletop decoration.

The secret of the satin shimmer

This bowl is made from a particularly strong satin-sheen variant of selenite. Due to the inner fibrous structure of the crystal, the surface reflects light in long stripes, just like a fine silk fabric. When you turn it in your hand, the stripes move, and you can see a slow, glowing wave. It is carved by hand in Morocco, where this soft mineral has been worked for decades.

The harmony of the round shape

The round base of the bowl and the gently rising rim give a harmonious, balance-radiating shape. It is not deep but rather shallow — offering just enough interior to hold a few smaller objects without giving a deep "well" feeling. You can confidently place it on the table centre, on a shelf, or on the mantelpiece, because it holds its quiet decorative role everywhere.

What you can store in the bowl

Your jewellery — rings, earrings, finer pendants — will be beautifully preserved. Your smaller minerals — a few pieces of clear quartz, amethyst, carnelian — can be displayed visibly together. Many people gather small keepsakes in it: a pebble brought from a journey, a thumbtack from a child's drawing, a dried flower. You can freely put inside what is dear to you. The satin white background fits everything.

How it fits into the home interior

The satin white colour fits many styles. In a Scandinavian-minimalist home it accentuates clean lines. In a Mediterranean, warmer home it gives contrast to wood and terracotta surfaces. In classical decor it is an elegant accent. Placed next to a candle or a smaller plant, it creates a quiet, calming corner in your home.

Lasting preservation with careful hand

Selenite is a soft mineral — it must NOT be exposed to water, because the satin surface gets damaged over time. You can wipe it occasionally with a dry, soft cloth, and if dust gathers between the fibres, you can brush it out with a fine brush. Do not keep it in damp rooms, and be careful not to drop it — the round rim of the bowl is the most sensitive. With this care you can enjoy its appearance for decades.
