The curves of the eye shape
The bowl is elongated, narrowing at both ends — hence the name eye-shaped. This is a particularly elegant form: it holds fewer objects than a round bowl, but looks more beautiful on a long shelf or a narrow dresser. The edge is polished smooth, so you can pick it up safely, with no sharp surfaces.
The special polished finish
Unlike other selenite pieces, this bowl is polished to a glossy finish. So the surface reflects light much more, and the moon-white colour shows itself with a stronger glow. If a lamp shines on it from your shelf, the inside of the bowl sparkles gently. This is a brighter, more festive version compared to traditional satin-matt selenite for you.
What you can place inside
Jewellery, rings, earrings — all of these are stored nicely. You can also arrange small minerals, smoothly polished little pebbles, displaying a tiny natural collection on a shelf. You can place it in the bedroom, the living room, or perhaps the corner of an entrance counter where you leave your keys in the morning.
Care
Glossy-polished selenite is just as water-sensitive as the satin-matt version. Never wash it with water, and do not store it in a damp room. The glossy surface will stay clean over time if you regularly wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For a stain use a slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately.
Who it suits
If you are looking for an elegant, brighter piece for a shelf or for storing jewellery, and you do not mind the elongated shape, this is for you. The eye form looks lovely on its own, and you do not need to pile other decorations around it — it is striking by itself.
