This variant is the larger piece in the selenite 'iceberg' family. If you want a more pronounced, more prominent crystal — for instance for the centre of a bookshelf or chest of drawers — this taller form offers a real sight.
A larger iceberg on your shelf
The height typically falls between 13-17 cm, which is a clearly visible decoration even from a distance. The base is polished, the other surfaces preserve the rock's natural form. The thickness varies by piece: some are more slender, standing forms, others are more stocky, set on a fuller base.
How it returns light
Because of the silky structure of selenite, light does not stop at the mineral's surface but enters it and scatters from within. In the morning, when a sunbeam reaches it, the crystal's interior glows faintly, as if tiny light-paths were running inside. In evening mood-lighting, it shimmers more calmly, like a softly glowing lamp.
Unique pieces and variations
Each larger iceberg shows a different face. One has more bands, another fewer. One tip is sharper, another blunter. You always receive a unique piece — the photo is indicative, but the actual piece may show a substantially different pattern.
Where it shows best
In the centre of a bookshelf, on a mantelpiece, on a long shelf above your desk, or on a console table by the entrance. In each place it stands on its own, needing nothing beside it: the form itself is sight enough. If you still want to display it together with your other crystals, leave 10-15 cm of empty space around it so that light can surround it.
Care and storage
Do not wash it, do not place it in a humid spot. Wipe with a dry soft cloth if dusty. When moving it, hold it with two hands at the base: the tip is more fragile, do not lift it there. For longer storage, wrap it in soft cloth and keep it in a knock-protected box.
