Sound and character
The leather-felt head sounds quite different from the wood-felt version: softer, warmer, rounder, with less prominent upper overtones. Because the two sides use different materials, a single mallet gives you two distinct characters — you can build tension or release with subtle shading.
How to use
Hold the mallet loosely between index and ring fingers. The flexible carbon shaft rebounds almost on its own. Rotate the mallet during play so leather and felt strike alternately — the same notes take on different colours.
Why this product
If you prefer a softer, more therapeutic tone, or enjoy gently shifting dynamics, this variant is ideal. At 21 cm it is well balanced for average and larger hands.
Care tips
- Rotate the mallet during play — two sides, two characters.
- Especially recommended for meditative sound baths thanks to its softer voice.
- Keep dry: wet felt can be ruined, and leather loses its suppleness.
